Privacy Statement


The security and privacy of your personal information is very important to Autism Anglia.

All information concerning UK or European Citizens is now governed by the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the UK Data Protection Act (2018). These new laws are a comprehensive overhaul of the way companies and charities obtain and use your personal information.

This policy explains what happens with any information you provide to Autism Anglia, including via our website.

 

How We Use Your Information

We collect information about you to facilitate our work with you and your family, and/or to process your requests. We will not use your information for any other purpose without your consent. Autism Anglia never sell or share personal information with outside companies, organisations or individuals unless:

  • you give your consent for us to do so – each time you give consent it will be clear what you permit us to do and we will explain it can be withdrawn
  • we use another company’s service to process your information – e.g. if you join our mailing list, we will store your details with the company who sends out our mailings
  • we’re working with another organisation to provide your care – e.g. we work closely with local authorities and health professionals to provide the best possible care and education services
  • it is in your vital interest or is necessary in the public interest – e.g. if we provide you with support and you, or those around you, need assistance from emergency services
  • we are required to do so by law – e.g. we send details about our staff to HMRC for tax purposes and we keep comprehensive records of the care and education we provide
  • we have a legitimate interest that is associated with previous requests – e.g. if you contact our diagnostic service then we may send you details of autism training or conferences. You can ask us to stop sending these

 

The Information We Collect

Autism Anglia collect information about you when you interact with us. This could be when you:

  • use our website or interact with our fundraising, events or training teams
  • apply for a job with, are employed by or volunteer for Autism Anglia
  • contact our Diagnostic Service or Advocacy Service
  • are an adult in our full or part time care (Adult Services, including Outreach and Adult Opportunities Centres)
  • attend our School Services

Marketing

 

Autism Anglia would like to send you marketing information concerning our products, services and events. If you have given us your consent to do this, it may be withdrawn at any time by visiting this page or by contacting us using the details at the bottom of this page.

 

Your rights

 

Data Protection law affords you 8 rights with regard to your data. If you wish to request a copy of the information we hold about you, object to how we use your information or ask us to correct, stop using or delete your information, please send us an email or write to us at the address below. If your request is complex or repetitive, we may make a charge to cover our administration costs.

You have the right to complain about how we use your information, both to Autism Anglia (by sending us an email or writing to the address below) and through the Information Commissioner’s Office (https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/).

 

Cookies

 

Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that websites transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser.
